Sucky Science Museum

This year, Chad and I decided to become members of the Science Museum of Minnesota. For the most part, we did it because of their Titanic exhibit (members get it much cheaper) and because we like the Omnitheater. We thought it would be a wise investment and on weekends we did not have much money, it would give us something fun to do... especially since each of us get a free Omni ticket for every day we go.

Over 6 months ago, the Titanic exhibit opened. It was a big deal, and was pretty cool. We saw the movie and all. Not long after we decided to go back. That is when we realized the problem...

The Omnitheater was ONLY showing the Titanic movie until the end of January. Wait... you mean to tell me that for over 6 months, they are only showing one move in that theater? That's correct. I, of course, wrote an e-mail explaining my sincere dissatisfaction with that. The girl told me she was sorry, but told me how great the museum was. I then corresponded with her supervisor, who gave me the same rehearsed bit. Finally, I went to her supervisor, who did the same thing. They did not budge. Their customer service is appalling, and their policies are worse. How dare they only show one move for more than half of a year and expect that their members would be okay with that.

So now, our current plan is to get as much out of them as possible. They have their annual Omnifest coming up... 5 movies in 6 weeks. You had better believe we are going to every movie, as they are free for members. In fact, there is one I have NO interest in seeing, but we are still going to take them for all we can.

In short, please do not support this organization who treats their members like crap. Instead, do what we did... become members of the Minnesota Zoo and see cute animals whenever you want.

Agree. Also the zoo is a great excuse for a healthy walk. It's like walking in the park with the jungle as background. Many people join the San Diego zoo just because of that.
